Classroom learning in the Bruce School Agriculture department rarely stays within the confines of our four-walled classroom. Students have the frequent opportunity to learn not only in their seats, but in our wonderful shop, greenhouse, garden, and forest facilities. Explore the class links to find out more about the course offerings in agriculture, as well as use them for additional course resources as a student.
Bruce Agriculture Department General Class Policies
Top Three Rules:
-Be Respectful
-Be Responsible
-Be Safe
Careful attention to the above three rules will eliminate the overwhelming majority of problems that occur in the discourse of Ag. Classes.
Late Work Policy:
-Any work turned in late for unexcused reasons will automatically have 25% of the total points earned deducted from the assignment grade.
-If work is turned in late due to an excused absence, or absences, the dates of those absences MUST accompany the work when handed in via the Bruce Ag Department Late Work/Reassessment Form.
-Students will have the two consecutive days they are in attendance immediately following each absent day to turn in work, or make up classwork, exams, etc. If a student is gone multiple days, they will receive two days for each day they were gone.
-If a student wishes to improve their score on an assignment, they may either retake it for up to 75% credit, or correct mistakes to receive 50% on the additional correct work, at the instructor's discretion.
-All unexcused late work must be completed and submitted ONE day BEFORE the end of the quarter. (excluding work excused by an excused absence)
-If a students wishes to turn in late work, or redo an assessment, they must fill out the Bruce Ag. Department Late Work/Reassessment form before their work will be graded
-If there are any extenuating circumstances that this policy does not cover, the appropriate method for calculating the grade will be determined by Mr. Behrends, and any appropriate Bruce School Administration.
