About Mr. Behrends
Mr. Sam Behrends
Agriculture Instructor, FFA Advisor, and Assistant Track Coach
Bruce School

Bio
I (Mr. Behrends) was born and raised on a production crop farm near Hastings, MN. Growing up, I realized my passion for Agriculture, as well as education through helping teachers in class, working on the family farm, and through active involvement with youth leadership in 4-H. After spending one year as a student athlete at UW-Green Bay, I transferred to UW-River Falls to pursue Agricultural Education. At River Falls I further developed my agricultural and instructional skills, not only through coursework, but also through the development of and employment in various agricultural enterprises including working for Washington County Parks, running a Horse Boarding Business, a Seed Cleaning Business, and a Farm Market Business. At the end of my college career I spent a semester student teaching in Winneconne, WI under the direction of Mr. Jim Melby. It was at Winneconne that I was able to further develop my teaching skills in a classroom setting, as well as learn what it takes to advise a successful FFA chapter. Upon graduation from college, I was hired as Ag. Teacher at Bruce School where I still am enjoying shaping the minds of Wisconsin's youth and promoting agriculture today!
